Requirements

You obtain the CPB license by completing the following education, examination, training, and experience requirements.

Complete the following higher-education courses or course equivalents with a minimum of 75%:

Complete one year of bookkeeping experience under the direction of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB), or approved experienced bookkeeper.

Requirement Alternative

Bookkeepers may also obtain the CPB license by completing the CPB Program.

The Certified Public Bookkeeper license is accredited by Consortia Accounting School.

Consortia is a registered Postsecondary Proprietary School providing post-secondary education for educational, vocational, or professional objectives.

Continuing Professional Education

Obtain 24 hours of CPE each year beginning the year after you obtain your license.
